What counts as a dental emergency
You do not need to be certain it is an emergency to call. If any of these apply, we want to hear from you:
- Persistent or severe tooth pain
- A broken, cracked, or chipped tooth
- A tooth that has been knocked out
- A lost filling or crown
- Swelling in the gums, face, or jaw
- Bleeding that will not stop
- Pain that wakes you at night or keeps you from eating
If a tooth has been knocked out, keep it moist, in milk or held in your cheek, and call immediately. Time matters for reattachment.
Emergency care without the panic
Most people who need an emergency dentist are already having a bad day, and many have not seen a dentist in years. That is the practice Dr. Wolfe built. She has lived with dental anxiety herself, and the office is set up to stay calm and unhurried even when the visit was not planned.
We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation. If fear is part of what has kept you from getting help, say so when you call and we will plan around it. You can read more about our sedation options.
What happens when you call
- You call. Describe what is going on. We will tell you honestly whether it needs to be seen today.
- We find you a time. We hold emergency slots rather than booking the day solid.
- We diagnose the cause. Digital X-rays and an exam, so we are treating the problem rather than masking it.
- We get you out of pain. Often the same visit. If more work is needed, we will lay out the options and costs before starting.

- Repair of broken and chipped teeth
- Re-cementing lost crowns and replacing lost fillings
- Root canal therapy, with sedation if you want it
- Extractions when a tooth cannot be saved
- Treatment of dental trauma and injury

If you are not a current patient
You do not need to be. Most of our emergency patients are new to us. We will check your insurance eligibility before you arrive, and we offer payment plans if cost is a concern.
